Support the VSCL in maintaining standard work disciplines, to ensure the maintenance of up to date records, perpetual inventory count, booking transactions, shift data, shift performance, MOT checks, shift hand-over, 5S, front line asset care (mc check lists), PMs, layered audits, Pulse Meeting, Team CI process, Day by Hour & Key Performance Indicator reviews etc. Deal with team issues arising and advise on Company procedures and policies. Record cell holidays in the cell diary prior to VSCL approval. Refer for further advice as necessary. Report machine breakdowns and work with maintenance department to prioritise and resolve. Assess non-conformance parts Scrap / RDM / Salvage. Complete appropriate records and produce required reports. Maintain daily output records. Monitor equipment daily and ensure records are up to date. Deputise for VSCL in the case of shifts & absences. Support the flow of transactions in MAPICS or other systems and rectify booking errors. Ensure that the cell has all the correct tools, fixtures, consumables & equipment to enable production and that at the end of the shift all are stored in the correct locations. Time spent on supervision duties varies across this group from 20% -100% depending on area / shift / size of cell / immediate problems and available additional support e.g. team leader / co-ordinator. Our housing association client is actively looking to recruit a Sign Writer to join their trades division on an initial temp contract with a genuine permanent opportunity. Primarily the role will serve a multi skilled service for the day to day Responsive repairs, covering maintenance works, voids and adaptation. Duties and responsibilities may include: - Carry out all tasks within the remit of a qualified Signmaker/Signwriter, including the use of computerised sign making systems. - Design signs or plan work to a pre-prepared design, measure and calculate letter size - Prepare surfaces, - Cut out and build plastics into letters, logos and 3D shapes - Apply paint backgrounds by brush, spray or roller, and hand-paint lettering (in traditional sign writing) - Attach lettering to backgrounds (if assembling a moulded sign) - Bend plastics into shape and fit basic electrical wiring (if producing an illuminated or animated sign) - Install signs on site - Use appropriate computer packages and equipment to design and manufacture signs. - Create two-dimensional or three-dimensional lettering and graphics, using computer-operated machinery - Design wall murals, screen prints, gold-leaf work and custom-vehicle art - To work at height usually from scaffold but in any event to work in accordance with health and safety practise and policy. - To train and mentor apprentices in the post holders craft area, allocate and supervise work, resolving any immediate work problems or disputes as appropriate. - Carry out inspections and correct faults where required, completing jobs to the satisfaction of tenants/customers in a single visit. - Reading drawings and taking information from specifications, schedules, manufacturers details, etc. - Carry out all works in accordance with the Property Services Departments safety policy and safety manual. - Responsible for keeping work and area tidy and free from waste materials. - Load/unload materials/stores. - Check and maintain machinery/power tools. - Check all manufactured goods are safe and within specifications ISO 9002. - To undertake a variety of multi skilled tasks including
